"The instructions were easy to follow. I liked how we were able to put our own thoughts into the workshop. The topic was also very interesting".

“Karen has a strong knowledge and understanding of her specialist subject and is a very creative practitioner who loves to explore and experiment with new ideas and materials”

Teacher, Suffolk New College,  2015

Karen Louise Dance finished 2016 by working with other Suffolk based Dance Artist, Anna Rowe, on BIG Dance 2016. Our aim was to raise the level of dance provision within local schools and groups across the county. In association with DanceEast, this project aimed to ignite excitement, enthusiasm and provide a new opportunity to dance and perform in the local community.

This creative project enabled schools and groups to work with local Dance Artists who have a wide variety of teaching experience and have worked directly with Akram Khan on the creation of BIG DANCE 2016 choreography.

KL Youth Dance Company

Dance with Us - Northgate

Karen Louise Dance is starting a new venture from January 2017. Based at Northgate High School in Ipswich, Karen Louise Youth Dance Company will form. This opportunity is open, for the time being, to Northgate students Year 9- Year 13.

We're super excited to have this opportunity to work with talented students at the school to create innovative and thought- provoking choreography for performance.

These Youth Dance Company sessions will run weekly and allow students to explore, express and create in a new way. If you know anyone, or yourself,  who would be interested and would like some more information, please contact Karen or speak to Miss Patrick at Northgate High School.

Dance in a Day!

After the success of Big Dance Suffolk in 2016, Dance Artist Anna Rowe and I have developed a new project which aims to evoke a unique creative experience of a topical subject through exploration of movement and performance.

We are offering a performance of our new work The Seedling, and bespoke dance workshops focusing on the subject matters raised within the performance, which can fit in easily with the current curriculum. Our performance and workshops are accessible for all ages and abilities. The workshops explore choreography from The Seedling and creative tasks. If you would like to know more and get a school or group involved, please use the contact page and send me a message.
